October 2020 test run

Eli turned 5 earlier this month - he was soooo excited and even had a count down to his big day.
He got a lot of thoughtful gifts and gave everyone a hug immediately after opening them.

He's such a sweet kid!

Eli wanted a pinata for his party.  He invited a handful of friends from his preschool and we met at a park in our neighborhood.  The kids had so much fun running around and playing with each other.

Eli loves Nick & Jakes and picked that restaurant for his dinner.
We hadn't been there since things have slowly started opening back up with limited seating.
We had a great time.

Eli with his gigantic birthday brownie!

Meanwhile, Colin is playing soccer and baseball this season.
He just started playing baseball this year and there are a lot of classmates on his team.
It has been a wonderful experience for him and he's learned so much!

Eli finished up with soccer this past weekend.
He tried soccer for the first time and loved it!  We might have yet another soccer player in the family.  He hustled on the field and is a pretty good dribbler!
Here he is receiving his medal for the season.

And last but not least, Maggie finished her volleyball season last weekend as well.  She continues to do gymnastics and is probably going to start basketball for the winter season.

Her volleyball team consisted of all friends from school - she had a great time.
We're continuing to work on her overhand serve (it's hard to get that down!), but she's quick and agile and isn't afraid to dive for the balls.  It was a lot of fun watching Maggie excel in volleyball this year!

Colin turns *10*

Okay - so I'm clearly behind on this blog.
Here it is Eli's 4th birthday and I'm writing about Colin's birthday back in July! :)

But, that's life these days, so I hope you understand!!

We had a small bday party for him at the pool with family...

July ordinary days

Brian and I met up with the kids one afternoon and went to Kaleidoscope.
We all had a great time - but boy has it changed since Brian and I were little!  It was kindof crazy in there!

Maggie and Katelyn hanging out one evening - these two are only a few days apart in age but MUCH different in height!

A few of our neighborhood friends came to watch Colin and Maggie swim at one of their last home swim meets - Eli just wasn't feeling the picture! ;)

We went to a shaved hawaiian ice stand to celebrate Eli's good season as a t-ball player

And more fun swimming at the pools!  We spent so much time there this summer, but it was fun!

Maggie's 8th birthday party (finally!)

We finally got around to celebrating Maggie's 8th birthday in the middle of July (2 months later, but hey, it was still lots of fun!)

She invited a few of her closest friends over to swim, have a sleepover, and see a movie the next morning!

We ordered pizza at the pool...

Did some jumping on the trampoline...

Ate some delicious ice cream sundaes...

Put on unicorn face masks...

Decorated some flip flops...

Got a *little* bit of sleep that night...

And saw a movie the next day (Aladdin - it was really good!)

It's nice that Maggie has a good group of close friends that she likes to hang with.  Such polite and friendly girls that will most definitely change the world one day!

Happy Birthday, Mags!

4th of July fun!

Our little family is starting to really enjoy the 4th of July!  Our kids typically have been pretty nervous/scared about fireworks, but have let us buy a few more of the 'big ones' as they get older.
They still love the quiet ones though!

Smoke bombs are always a hit and are soooo much fun to run through!

And we bought the sparklers with the extra-long handles so they thought that was pretty neat!

Colin doing some sparkler dance moves

Eli took all the 'loud' fireworks and hid them so we wouldn't set them off :)

Our neighbors from a couple houses up the street stayed up late with us one night

The next day we went to Grammie and Granddads for a bit and the kids wanted to paint some USA pride on our cheeks.  Maggie did mine and Colin did Eli's face paint!

Eli even wanted to start lighting the smoke bombs so Maggie volunteered to help him

We had a wonderful 4th of July holiday and spent quite a bit of time with friends throughout the week.  We are blessed!
